House Passes Comp Reform, but Veto Expected

As expected, the Illinois House of Representatives on Wednesday approved a bill that includes adoption of a drug formulary and other cost-saving reforms, but also creation of a state fund and a prohibition against “excessive” workers’ compensation rates. The House voted 64-51 to concur in Senate amendments to House Bill 2525 by Rep. Jay Hoffman, D-Swansea, and several co-authors.
