NASI Reports Decrease in Benefits and Employers' Costs in 2010

By Greg Jones, Western Bureau ChiefOn average, employers paid less for workers’ compensation insurance and injured workers collected less in benefits in 2010 than in 2009, according to a report released last week by the National Academy of Social Insurance (NASI).John F. Burton, professor emeritus at Rutgers and Cornell universities and chairman of the NASI study panel that prepared the report, said results of the study show workers’ compensation costs are on a downward trend.
