The Texas Supreme Court denied a petition to rehear an injured worker's malpractice suit on Friday. The state Supreme Court denied review to the case of Elizondo v. The Krist Law Firm, No. 11-0438. On Aug. 30, the high court issued a 6-2 decision stating that Jose Elizondo, an injured worker, could not sue his former attorneys for malpractice. Elizondo was employed by a contractor who was working at BP Amoco Chemical Co.'s refinery. He injured his neck and back when the refinery exploded in March 2005. The explosion killed 15 workers.
