The owner of a New York roofing company pleaded guilty to charges that he intentionally misclassified workers to fraudulently reduce his workers’ compensation premiums by more than $250,000.
The New York State Inspector General’s Office and Suffolk County District Attorney’s Office said in a joint statement that Peter Chardon pleaded guilty to petit larceny and insurance fraud while the company he owns, DME Constriction Associates Inc., pleaded guilty to grand larceny and insurance fraud.
