LWCC Urges Training for Workers Against 'Distracted Driving'

Louisiana Workers’ Compensation Corp. (LWCC) issued a reminder Thursday to employers to educate employees about the need for attentive driving while in the “mobile workplace” in conjunction with "Distracted Driving Prevention Week" June 9-13.The observance is part of the National Safety Council designation of June as “National Safety Month.”The carrier cited a study by the University of North Carolina Highway Safety Research Center showing an estimated 284,000 distracted drivers are involved in serious crashes each year.
