Virginia lawmakers have two more weeks to consider eight workers' compensation bills that passed one chamber before the regular session ended this week.
Virginia law limits legislative sessions to 30 days in odd-numbered years, but Gov. Ralph Northam called for a special session to begin Wednesday, extending the time for lawmakers to act to 45 days.
Legislators in both houses had passed a number of comp bills, including presumption measures, and voted to continue deliberation on eight of them into the special session.
