Maryland's full Senate and a House committee have approved a bill that seeks to prevent state retirees from having an offset taken out twice for a workplace injury benefit.
Senate Bill 486, sponsored by Sen. Melony Griffith, D-Prince George's County, would require the State Retirement Agency to adjust reductions of a retiree's disability payments to reflect any offset awarded by the state Workers' Compensation Commission.
