A Morris County doctor who took $1.8 million in bribes from a bio lab’s owners to send patients out for bogus blood tests was sentenced to over five years in federal prison, according to a release from the U.S. Attorney for the District of New Jersey’s office.
Dr. Frank Santangelo, 45, pleaded guilty to information that led to charges against him including violating the Travel Act (which forbids travel or the use of the U.S. mail system to commit a crime), money laundering and failing to file taxes.
