A company that goes after borrowers who have defaulted on student loans has now been tasked with recovering money from workers’ comp carriers and other payers that owe money to Medicare.
The Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services has chosen Performant Financial Corp. as its Commercial Repayment Center contractor to replace CGI Federal.
In addition to its work on student loan repayment, Performant has worked previously with CMS on recovering improper Medicare payments to providers.
