World Wrestling Entertainment Inc. on Monday made a pre-emptive move to stop a spate of brain-injury lawsuits by a group of former performers, asking a federal trial judge in Connecticut to declare that the wrestlers wouldn't be able to file their "stale and fraudulent claims" if they tried.
The WWE claims the wrestlers are making "false, salacious and irrelevant allegations," and if they were to actually file complaints, the lawsuits would be "patently time-barred."
