The U.S. Occupational Safety and Health Administration has cited a New York manufacturer for alleged safety violations after a worker fractured his hand at the company’s plant in Hauppauge.
U.S. Nonwoven Corp., which makes fabric for home and personal care, faces $287,212 in penalties in connection with the citations, issued July 16. The company has 15 business days to contest the citations.
According to OSHA, the employee’s injury occurred when his hand became caught in a fabric-softener sheet-cutting machine.
