Worker Gets Summary Judgment for Ladder Fall Claim

A New York appellate court ruled that a worker should have been granted summary judgment on his Labor Law claim for his fall from an unsecured ladder. Case: Rivera v. 712 Fifth Avenue Owner LP, Nos. 155344/20 and 595222/22, 07/02/2024, published. Facts: 712 Fifth Avenue Owner LP owns a building that was undergoing demolition and renovation. Angel Roman Caguana Rivera worked on the project. He was directed to remove metal ductwork from the ceiling of a bathroom on the 35th floor of the building.
