Texas Gov. Greg Abbott has appointed Cassie Brown to another two-year term as workers' compensation commissioner.
The governor's office announced Thursday that Brown would serve at least until February 2023 if her appointment is ratified by the state Senate.
Brown will ensure that “injured workers receive the necessary benefits to quickly return to work and that workers' compensation costs are kept at a reasonable level for Texas employers,” the governor's office said in a statement.
