Miller began practicing law some 60 years ago with Bud Lally. The two created the Lally & Miller law firm, which later became Lally Miller and Hodges; then Miller and Hodges; then Miller, Kagan and Chait; then Miller, Kagan, Rodriguez and Silver; and finally MKRS Law, according to the firm.

Miller was born in Asheville, North Carolina, on Feb. 2, 1928, and moved to Miami in 1940. After serving in the Army, he attended the University of Miami. He worked as an attorney/adjuster for Southern General Insurance Co. while attending law school, according to an obituary posted online by Dignity Memorial.

After graduating, Miller met Lally and began attending hearings to watch him in action. Lally offered him work at his firm. He later became a full partner in what became Lally & Miller.

Miller retired in 1998.

He is survived by his wife of 39 years, Evelyn; brother, Dr. Gordon Miller, and sister, Beryl Saluk; his children, Judge David C. Miller, Barry Miller and Laurie de Solo; six grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
