Net written premium increased slightly in 2021 as the workers’ compensation industry enjoyed another year of consistent, stable and strong results, according to figures presented Tuesday at the National Council on Compensation Insurance’s Annual Insights Symposium.
Donna Glenn, chief actuary for NCCI, said there were no real surprises when looking at work comp loss drivers and that both frequency and severity have been consistent in recent years despite disruptions caused by the pandemic in 2020 and 2021.
