Regulators Mulling Formulary to Prevent Opioid Abuse

Maine's workers' compensation system could have a drug formulary before the end of the year, and its focus will be therapeutic if Workers' Compensation Chairman and Executive Director Paul Sighinolfi has his way. Sighinolfi is working with a task force to determine if the commission should have a formulary. If the decision is yes, he said it will be time to go forward with the rulemaking procedures late this year or in early 2016. Sighinolfi said legislative approval is not required.
