Erie Insurance Promotes Sarah Shine to SVP of Commercial

Erie Insurance has promoted Sarah Shine to senior vice president of commercial products.

Shine joined Erie in 2000 as an actuarial analyst for personal lines, shifting focus to commercial lines in 2004. In 2013, Shine was named vice president of commercial underwriting and, earlier this year, regional vice president of underwriting for the Southeast Region.

Under Shine’s leadership, Erie strengthened the role of support staff to improve effectiveness of the commercial underwriting team. Shine has also launched internships and training programs at the company.

Shine received a bachelor’s degree in mathematics from Penn State University and earned the Chartered Property Casualty Underwriter designation. She is also a fellow of the Casualty Actuarial Society.

Based in Erie, Pennsylvania, Erie Insurance provides personal and commercial lines of insurance, including workers’ compensation.
