Walmart Greeter Gets Benefits for Detached Retina After Workplace Fall

The West Virginia Supreme Court upheld an award of benefits to a Walmart greeter for the detachment of the retina in his left eye after a fall at work. Case: Walmart Associates v. Basham, No. 18-0466, 11/02/2018, published. Facts: Richard Basham worked as a greeter for Walmart Associates. While he was at work in April 2016, Basham caught his foot on a tile and fell backwards.
