Gov. Newsom Appoints New Director, General Counsel to DIR

California Gov. Gavin Newsom has appointed two new officials to the state’s Department of Industrial Relations, according to a news release from his office. Newsom appointed Sacramento resident Katrina S. Hagen, 47, to DIR director in a move that requires state Senate confirmation. Since 2017, Hagen has filled the role of chief deputy director of the California Department of Tax and Fee Administration.
