The Utah state Occupational Safety and Health Division updated its local emphasis program for amputations to allow inspectors to visit more worksites and check for hazards.
Revisions that went into effect on Thursday allow division safety inspectors to select at least 50 businesses for targeted amputation risk inspections. Previously, the rules capped at 50 the number of businesses that could be investigated as part of the emphasis program.
