When it comes to prices paid for workers’ comp medical professional services, Wisconsin ranked highest among 36 states in a new study that’s likely to add fuel to the debate over whether action is needed to better control costs.
The Workers Compensation Research Institute reported that six of the 36 states in its study lacked medical fee schedules as of mid-2018. Those states — Wisconsin followed by New Hampshire, Indiana, Missouri, New Jersey and Iowa — had the highest prices for medical professional services.
