A cap on repackaged drug prices that took effect on April 1, 2011, in Georgia has reduced the average price per pill for physician-dispensed drugs by 22% to 36%, according to a preliminary review by the Workers Compensation Research Institute.At the same time, WCRI found that the average price for physician-dispensed prescriptions remained 20% to 40% higher than those for the same drugs dispensed at pharmacies.
