Proponents of a workers’ compensation drug formulary in Nebraska say a list of medically appropriate drugs could be a key tool in fighting the opioid crisis. But opponents say the state has taken other recent actions against opioids, so a formulary might not be needed.
The debate played out Monday during a hearing on Legislative Bill 487, introduced by Sen. Andrew La Grone, R-Lincoln. The Business and Labor Committee of the state’s unicameral Legislature heard testimony on LB 487 but did not vote on it.
