The South Carolina House of Representatives passed a bill that would make it easier for first responders to file claims for post-traumatic stress disorder and other mental injuries.
The House voted 95-19 to pass HB 3939, by Rep. Tommy Pope, R-York, on April 28.
South Carolina covers mental injuries unaccompanied by a physical injury only when the worker establishes that the condition causing the stress was extraordinary and unusual.
