Consumer Affairs Collected $1.3 Million in Second Quarter

The Connecticut Insurance Department's Consumer Affairs Unit reported it recovered $1.3 million during the second quarter of 2009 – twice the amount recovered during the same three months last year.Insurance Commissioner Thomas R. Sullivan said last week that consumer representatives are receiving an average of 1,600 complaints per quarter.He said 44% of the complaints filed during the second quarter were related to accident and health insurance lines.
