Virginia lawmakers passed bills that provide emergency dispatchers with coverage for post-traumatic stress disorder and allow two or more group self-insurance associations to merge.
The state House of Representatives on Monday voted 100-0 to pass HB 2418, by Del. William C. Wampler, R-Abingdon, which would authorize the State Corporation Commission to establish criteria for mergers and approve the joining of two or more self-insurance associations.
The measure would require that any resulting group self-insurance pool must assume in full all obligations of the merged group.
