Greenwich Emergency Medical Service (GEMS) put a paramedic back on a local police patrol boat last weekend after striking a deal with its workers' compensation carrier to add excess coverage, Greenwich Time reported.The Greenwich, Conn., newspaper said the Workers' Compensation Trust, of Wallingford, Conn., added a rider to the GEMS policy through Lloyd's of London to cover paramedics assigned to weekend duty aboard Connecticut Police Department patrol boats from Memorial Day weekend through October.The medical service is paying $6,500 a year for the rider.
