Two Idaho Falls mechanics were crushed by vehicles within miles of one another this past January, prompting inspections from the Occupational Safety and Health Administration and proposed fines of over $25,000 for two separate companies, according to an OSHA news release.
On Jan. 12, a mechanic working on the transmission of a truck was killed when the truck fell from its wooden support blocks. Two weeks later, and three miles away, another mechanic was fatally crushed by a van that fell from supporting wheel rims, according to OSHA.
