ProAssurance Announces CEO and Executive Chairman Appointments

ProAssurance Corp. announced that its board of directors elected Edward L. Rand Jr. as the company’s president and CEO.

Rand will succeed W. Stancil Starness as CEO, effective July 1. Starness will transition to his new role as executive chairman of the board of directors.

ProAssurance said the move is the final step of a transition process initiated by Starness and the board more than 18 months ago.

The company also announced that Dr. Thomas A.S. Wilson will continue to serve as the independent lead director for the board.
