Employers Holdings Boosts Profit After Shrinking Southland Business

Reducing its concentration of business in Southern California has had a positive impact for Employers Holdings Inc., which saw its net income go up by 13% last year, to $106.7 million. Employers has also benefitted from an accelerated claims settlement strategy it has been implementing since 2014, executives said last week in releasing the company's fourth quarter and full-year results. Employers’ net income for the fourth quarter was $35.5 million, up 33% from the prior-year quarter.
