Two Southern California doctors are accused of fraudulently billing workers’ compensation carriers for unauthorized medical-legal evaluations.
Psychologist Danita Stewart, 51, and Dr. Catalino Dureza, 54, are both facing charges in Fresno County for allegedly billing more than $107,000 for med-legal exams they weren’t credentialed to perform, according to the California Department of Insurance.
Stewart, a licensed psychologist in Chatsworth, allegedly submitted 36 claims between April 2015 and June 2015 seeking $90,714 in payment for med-legal exams. The Insurance Department said...
