Veteran New York State Workers' Compensation Board (SWCB) attorney Carl Copps has retired from the board to take a continuing education post with the New York State Bar Association.Copps confirmed Monday that he is working as a staff attorney in the Bar Association's Continuing Legal Education Department.Copps worked with the New York State Insurance Fund (NYSIF) from 1980 until 1998, when he moved to SWCB and created the Office of Appeals, which grew to include 70 attorneys who reviewed cases and prepared draft rulings for the board's 13 members.From 2008 through March 2011, he he...
