The U.S. Attorney's Office for the Middle District of Florida announced that a man who created a shell company as part of a payroll fraud scheme was sentenced to 27 months in federal prison Tuesday.
Jose Molina-Herrera created All National Remodeling LLC to facilitate paying construction workers off the books and avoid payroll taxes and workers' compensation premiums.
Contractors and subcontractors paid the shell company for labor. The shell company pocketed 6% to 8% of what it received and paid the rest to workers in cash.
