A Nebraska state lawmaker is considering limiting the scope of his wide-ranging medical treatment guidelines bill in order to introduce a drug formulary and win the support of medical providers.
LB 429, introduced earlier this year by Sen. Jim Smith of Papillion, proposed using Work Loss Institute's Official Disability Guidelines for all medical, surgical and hospital services provided under the state's Workers' Compensation Act, including the ODG drug formulary.
But Smith's staff says he may simplify the bill to introduce only a drug formulary.
