High Court Won't Revisit Firefighter's Breach of Contract Lawsuit

The Texas Supreme Court is standing by its decision to vacate a jury's $127,500 award in favor of an injured firefighter based on his employer' breach of a settlement agreement that had resolved his workers' comp claim from an injury some 16 years prior.Last November, the Supreme Court ruled that Christopher Rhule had to present his claim to the Industrial Accident Board, now the Texas Division of Workers' Compensation, before he could sue his former employer, the City of Houston, in district court.On Friday, the court denied Rhule's request for rehearing of the matter.The ...
