Pinnacol: Slips Account for Majority of Claims

Colorado’s Pinnacol Assurance said a recent analysis of claims data from January 2017 through March 2021 found the majority of workers’ compensation claims were the result of slips. Slips accounted for nearly 40% of all claims during the period reviewed, Pinnacol said. Slips are a frequent precursor to long-term disability claims, and the third leading cause of unintentional death, according to the National Safety Council.
