Courier Firm Can't Classify Drivers as Independent Contractors

The California Sixth Appellate Division ruled than a courier business cannot classify its drivers as independent contractors. In JKH Enterprises Inc. v. Department of Industrial Relations, No. CV030955, 08/22/2006, JKH Enterprises Inc. appealed the trial court's denial of its petition for a writ of administrative mandamus. JKH provides courier services to Bay Area businesses such as title companies and law firms.
