A divided Arkansas Supreme Court last week ruled that the estate of a worker who died from an asbestos-related illness could not bring a civil suit against the worker's former employer, even though the worker couldn't get a remedy through the comp system. The Arkansas Workers' Compensation Act provides a three-year filing window for asbestos disease claims, and that period had long expired before Guy Hendrix even knew he was sick.
