Percentage of Surgical Carpal-Tunnel Cases Varies by State, Company Reports

Twenty percent of carpal tunnel cases in California in which physical therapy was provided through MedRisk, a workers’ comp physical medicine management company, were post-surgical cases, while the other 80% did not involve surgery, the company said. In North Carolina and Georgia, the proportion of surgical carpal tunnel cases was about 20% and 30%, respectively.
