Larson, who worked with the firm of Fields & Brown and with Morrow Willnauer Church in Kansas City, Missouri, was nominated by the Workers' Compensation and Employment Security Nominating Committee in June.

State Labor Secretary Lana Gordon approved the nomination this week.

Larson is a graduate of Washburn University Law School. He and his family reside in Shawnee, Kansas, and he has already begun work in the Lenexa court office. He previously was a research attorney for the Kansas Court of Appeals.

“Troy Larson, with his experience as a research attorney and his involvement in private practice working with work comp claims, will be an excellent addition to the workers' compensation staff of administrative law judges,” Gordon said.
