Truck Driver Sentenced for Workers' Comp Fraud

A former truck driver in Ventura County who was caught working on cars while collecting workers’ comp benefits for a shoulder injury has pleaded guilty to insurance fraud and has been sentenced to three years of probation. Jaime Serna, 47, formerly of Fillmore, also must pay $27,955 in restitution to the victim, American Claims Management, and serve 180 days in a Ventura County jail, the Ventura County District Attorney’s Office said in a news release.
