The Ohio Bureau of Workers’ Compensation announced Thursday that it will issue a one-time $15 million rebate to Ohio’s 88 county governments because of strong investment returns.
The rebate, approved by BWC’s board of directors during a meeting Thursday, will come from the Public Work-Relief Employees’ Fund, which provides counties with workers’ compensation coverage for work-relief employees, who are individuals required to work for a government agency in exchange for public assistance payments.
