The Ohio Bureau of Workers’ Compensation reported that its Special Investigations Department closed 1,431 cases during the fiscal year that ended in June, securing 69 convictions and identifying $90 million in savings.
The BWC said it’s the highest annual savings since fiscal year 2007.
Cases closed in the most recent fiscal year include that of Curtis Wilson in Columbus, who pleaded guilty to one count of receiving stolen property after attempting to cash an $18,000 dividend check issued to a business with which he had no relationship.
