AXIS Re Hires Head of Casualty Reinsurance

AXIS Re said it hired Joe Sweeting as head of Lloyd’s Casualty Reinsurance.

In the new role, Sweeting will be responsible for managing all aspects of AXIS Re’s casualty business at Lloyd’s, including portfolio strategy, new and renewal production activity, and distribution development from intermediaries.

Sweeting comes to AXIS from Vibe Syndicate 5678, where he spent three years as a casualty treaty class underwriter. Before that, he was head of casualty reinsurance at Hiscox Syndicate 33 and a casualty underwriter for Amlin Syndicate 2001.

AXIS Re is the reinsurance segment of AXIS Capital Holdings Limited. It provides reinsurance to insurance companies throughout the world.
