Investigators Cracking Down on Premium Fraud

Florida workers’ compensation fraud investigators made 407 arrests and secured 360 convictions in fiscal 2017, slightly down from the year before and significantly less than in fiscal 2015, a new report states. Investigators probed 74 shell companies in fiscal 2017 and identified $400 million in fraud transactions, leading to the arrests of one facilitator and 34 shell company owners.
