Michael D. Drobot faces more time in prison for scheming a federal court out of $1 million than he did for the spinal surgery kickback scheme at Pacific Hospital of Long Beach that prosecutors say defrauded California comp carriers out of nearly $1 billion.
The U.S. Attorney’s Office on Wednesday announced that Drobot agreed to plead guilty to criminal charges for pocketing proceeds from the sale of his luxury cars when he was supposed to use the money to satisfy a criminal forfeiture order.
