A former Illinois state trooper has filed for workers' compensation benefits for injuries he received in a car crash in which he crossed the median and hit and killed two Collinsville sisters while driving at triple-digit speeds, the Belleville News-Democrat reported Tuesday.Former trooper Matt Mitchell filed the case on Sept. 13 against the Illinois State Police, the newspaper reported.Kerry O'Sullivan, attorney with the St. Louis, Mo., firm of Brown and Crouppen, who represents Mitchell, said she would not have filed the case if she thought it was frivolous or without merit.Mitchell ...
