Gov. Christopher Sununu designated Nov. 11-15 as Kids’ Chance of New Hampshire awareness week in an effort to increase the visibility of the organization that now has chapters in 47 states.
“With this proclamation, New Hampshire joins a growing list of states nationwide setting aside this time to promote Kids’ Chance scholarship opportunities for families of those injured at work,” Kids’ Chance of New Hampshire said in a statement.
Kids’ Chance awareness week helps heighten the visibility of the organization's efforts across the country, letting families know scholarships are available and how others can help, said Stacey Foote, chair of the New Hampshire chapter and director of claims for MEMIC Group.
The New Hampshire chapter was established in 2017 and will award its first scholarship this year.
Governors in Mississippi, Georgia, Louisiana, Missouri, Montana and North Carolina have similarly declared the second week of November Kids’ Chance awareness week. The New Jersey state Senate issued a similar proclamation.
The West Virginia governor is expected to sign a proclamation Tuesday.
