A former Miami-Dade County fire inspector was charged Friday with filing a false and fraudulent insurance claim.Anthony Dorta is accused of lying to the state when he said he did not make money while collecting workers’ compensation benefits. An inspector general’s investigation found that Dorta worked as a handyman during the time he was allegedly unable to work because of an injury to his left knee.The inspector general’s office said Dorta collected more than $143,000 in workers’ compensation benefits from January 2011 to October 2013.
