House Unanimously Passes Two Anti-Fraud Measures

The Florida House on Tuesday passed by identical 119-0 votes two bills dealing with insurance fraud. If HB 1007 passes the Senate, every insurer, regardless of size, would be required by Dec. 31 to establish and maintain a designated anti-fraud unit or enter a contract with another entity that would investigate and report possible fraud. Insurers would have to adopt an anti-fraud plan and designate at least one employee to implement HB 1007’s requirements.
